We have created a new game called Noodle Hockey. It has been a good hit so far it is still fairly new but we are fixing any kinks we may think is in the game. This game is where you would sit in a chair across from each other teams. Then everyone gets a exercises noodle to play with and then we have a beach ball that I put in the middle of the game and let the teams at it. One team will try to shoot the beach ball one way to make the winning game!!!
This was the first sing a long, we gathered old songs that the residents had collected over the years. Made copies for everyone and had our Betty Boop playing the piano. It's a gorgeous sound hearing residents singing to a beautiful music that comes from the piano.
On Wednesday we had a staff vs. resident beanbag baseball game. It was nine residents against seven employee's. All staff was thinking I got this! Boy were we wrong. The resident's took charge and took over the game. We all had such a great time playing though and cant wait till the next game.
On Friday our trip was to the Air and Space Museum in Eugene. We all had a blast and it took a lot of residents back to the past talking about the war planes. Whether they flew them or if it was their husbands or sons it got them all talking about it and the tour guide was awesome.
We always have once a month a New Resident Dinner. This is where our new residents get the first chance to have a meal in our private dining room. I decorate it with balloons and put together a gift for all the residents. The gift right now is our Garden Way Retirement coffee cup that I fill up with candies and a free meal ticket.
