Tropical Gingerbread House

This is the very first Garden Way Retirement's Gingerbread House. The best thing is we did a tropical gingerbread house. The middle hut is our tiki hut, we have a outhouse, tiny little house's with ginderbread men and lounge chairs with even bar stools for the tiki hut. Residents all had a really fun time.

It's that time for Caroling

We have had the Cub Scouts here they gave everyone a cute surprise. One of our Residents daughter is the troop leader for the Cub Scouts. Seeing her daughter here gave her such excitement. All the residents loved the cute children.

The Dublinars are a local High School Choir residents always appreciate seeing them. They are a very out going singing group. They dance and sing and at the end of it all they come and hug and talk with our residents. We enjoy them as much as they enjoy coming to our community.

Just a couple days ago we had a residents church group come and carol for us also. They did end up gathering quite a crowd around them.

Holiday Dinner

Today we all found out how talented Chef Martin is at our Holiday Dinner. He created our ice sculpture, this has been a talent he has had for quite some time. All of us were in awe to see his other hidden talents. Just AMAZING!

The meal consisted of either Salmon or Prime Rib with a Baked Potato and Asparagus with Squash, of course we also had our full salad bar and many desserts to choose from.

Cub Scouts Pac 91

This evening we had cub scouts pac 91 come and donate a tree to our community.
Every night till christmas we will open a envelope which will have a special saying and a special ornament that the Cub Scouts made. After their presentation they sang two christmas carols. It was a very sweet gesture that all the residents loved and enjoyed.

On the count of three start 1. 2. 3. The First Nowell...

This was our biggest sing a long yet. We did a bunch of holiday music to get us in the spirit. I couldnt capture everyone in one pic. Soon as resident heard the holiday music they came strolling in.

Thrilling thursday

Every other month at Garden Way Retirement we have what is called Thrilling Thursday!
This is a chance for all residents to put their name in drawing and after two weeks I will pick a winner on a Thursday in front of the dining room. This special resident gets a chance to sit down with our chef and plan out a full meal that the resident will enjoy in our private dining room with their friends and or family. The other special part of this meal is that Chef Martin will serve and eat with you!
