3rd Year Anniversary

It was are 3rd Year Anniversary Wine and Art show Open House at Garden Way Retirement, we went all out! First the art we displayed throughout the four floors was from all our residents. They all put in two pieces or art work to be displayed for the event. Doug a residents son in law came to perform live art sand painting. We had delicious red and white wine for tasting or buying and last but not least we had wonderful music from the Jammers, jazz band. Our special talented Chef Martin did one of his famous ice sculptures.

The ice sculptures one side was a fish and the other side was the sun.

The food for the open house so good as you can tell by the line. We had chocolate covered strawberries, coco dusted dark chocolate truffles and white chocolate.

Residents Art Gallery at Willamalane

We have so many talented residents here many who either draw, paint, watercolor or some other type of art work. They had a chance to have all their art displayed in Willamalane Art gallery. We had a fun on opening night with seeing the artwork displayed nicely on the wall and the wine and special finger foods they put out for everyone. The residents were very proud and so thrilled that their art made into the public eye.

Halloween sun catchers

Sun catchers are a very fun and simple project to do. For the season we did Halloween, you could choose from a ghost, bat flying into the night moon or a good ole' fashion pumpkin. It was a lot of fun and residents had fun doing them. They realized how thinner the paint is for sun catchers and so we had a learning experience as well.

October is Cancer Awareness Month

October is Cancer Awareness Month. At Garden way we did a raffle for a specially made quilt by a cancer survivor. The best part is her daughter, Chelsea works with us as a server and both has been apart of the Garden Way family since we have opened.

Her mother and her joined a yearly race here in Eugene  called "A Race To Find A Cure," they had their own team this year. Garden Way staff and residents jumped in to help raise money. All together we helped raise $300 dollars which will all go to the cancer foundation for medical expense, medication, surgeries and anything that cancer patients may need help covering in expenses.

The lucky winner of the quilt was Lois, who is a breast cancer survivor. The quilt was very beautifully done and Lois was very ecstatic to have won it.

Wellness Event "Walker Check"

We had a nice group show up to having their walker's check. All-Med Supplys came and did a great job. They checked and made sure all residents had the proper height setting, got their brakes tighened, replace some little furnishings that their walker may have lost. Resident were very happy to come and have this service done.
