Veterans Aid

To honor the heroes who served our country, Garden Way created a Hall of Honor. This hall recoginzes each resident that served, with a current picture posted as well as a picture in uniform from their time in active duty. Also displayed is a Navy uniform from WWI as well as medals of honor and articles featuring our residents. We have a wide range of people who served in the Navy, Marines, Army and Air Force and we truly believe these men and women, who gave so much for our country, deserve to be honored!

Garden Way also helps veterans by connecting them with the Aid & Attendance Pension. This program was established in 1952 to provide financial assistance to wartime veterans and/or their surviving spouses, who lack the funds necessary to pay for the care they require. This care can be provided in an independent living community, like Garden Way.

If you served our country during a period of war you may be eligible for this benefit. By accessing this pension you will be able to increase your dollars avilable to pay for care or move into the type of community where you can receive the services you need.

Any wartime Veteran with 90 days of active duty, 1 day beginning or ending during a period of war, is eligible to apply for the Aid & Attendance Improved Pension. A surviving spouse (marriage must have ended due to death of veteran) of a War-Time Veteran may also apply. The individual applying must qualify both medically and financially.
This pension is recieved monthly and is paid directly into the veterans or surviving spouses bank account. IT IS COMPLETELY TAX FREE! The maximum benefits are listed below.
