Valentines Day 2014

Valentines Day was a blast here at Garden Way Retirement. We had dancing, sweet treats that reached the sweet tooth we all been having and of course the best part was the
 crowning of the
Sweetest Sweet Hearts of Garden Way.

All the residents and staff had the chance to vote once for both a man and female that they believed was the Sweetest Sweet Heart of Garden Way. The votes were all tallied and the winners are....

Fran Weitzel and Clive Tanton, they were both very surprised!

Going once.. Going Twice.. Sold....

What do you think when you hear those words?
You most likely only need one guess and you guessed it right, Auction... We had men's watches, Aloe Vera slippers, meal tickets good for four free guest meals, guest suites tickets good for two free nights and you can never forget the tissue we need for those runny noses we get from time from time. There was other random items out and about and all the residents had a great time spending their funny money.

Crazy Sweater Contest

Every one has heard of a crazy sweater contest, we thought why cant we have one? We did exactly that. The kitchen prepare a crazy sweater cake, it was a starbust cake with a purple  icing, candy corns at the neck and Easter sprinkles around the whole thing. It was almost to adorable to eat. At the contest we based every one's sweater on a clapping meter to determine our winner. For prizes we had crazy meal tickets for everyone and crazy gift bags loaded with fun toys to play with. It was a fun and crazy day.

3rd Year Anniversary

It was are 3rd Year Anniversary Wine and Art show Open House at Garden Way Retirement, we went all out! First the art we displayed throughout the four floors was from all our residents. They all put in two pieces or art work to be displayed for the event. Doug a residents son in law came to perform live art sand painting. We had delicious red and white wine for tasting or buying and last but not least we had wonderful music from the Jammers, jazz band. Our special talented Chef Martin did one of his famous ice sculptures.

The ice sculptures one side was a fish and the other side was the sun.
